What data SpaCheckup stores
SpaCheckup stores the following information locally on your device only, using Apple’s standard on-device storage:
- Spa settings — your spa’s water volume, sanitizer type, chemical product strengths, preferred units, and appearance (light/dark mode) preference.
- Water test readings — the values you enter from your test strips.
- Treatment history — a log of water tests and treatments you choose to record.
- Reminder preferences — which maintenance reminders you have enabled and their schedules.
This data never leaves your device. Deleting the app permanently deletes all of it.
What SpaCheckup does not do
- We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
- We do not require an account, email address, or sign-in of any kind.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks.
- We do not access your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
- We do not operate any server or backend — there is nowhere for your data to go.
Notifications
If you enable maintenance reminders, SpaCheckup schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated and delivered entirely by iOS on your device — no push-notification service is involved, and no data is transmitted to us or to third parties. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases
SpaCheckup is sold through the Apple App Store. Your purchase is processed entirely by Apple; we never see your name, email address, or payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children’s privacy
SpaCheckup does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
This website
This website (spacheckup.com) is a static site. It does not use cookies, does not run analytics scripts, and does not collect personal information. Our web host may keep standard, anonymous server logs (such as request timestamps) for operational purposes.
Changes to this policy
If SpaCheckup ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — which would be a significant departure from its local-only design — we will update this policy and change the effective date above before the change takes effect.
